FAQ
Q1
Why does my heater look like it isn't heating up the pool at all?
The working principle of a heat pump is to slowly heat and then maintain a constant temperature. It is very energy-saving, but cannot heat quickly. So the ECOPOOLTECH heat pumps usually heats the pool up during the first 2 or 3 days to your set temperature (it could be longer, depending on the size of your pool, as well as the ambient temperature). Then it will automatically stop or start according to temperature fluctuations to keep your pool warm and comfortable.
Since the temperature difference between the water inlet and outlet is only around 1F or less(depends on the volume of water flow), it is difficult to feel it by hand. You will be able to detecttemperature changes, however, once the heater operates for a longer period of time.
Q2
Why is it necessary to put a solar cover?
If a pool doesn’t have a cover, there will be significant heat loss, especially in winter time when the ambient temperature is low. The temperature difference between the air and the water becomes so great that heat loss may occur rapidly.
So much heat can be lost that your heater will have difficulty catching up to the amount dissipated into the air.
As a result, your pool may never get warmed to the right temperature. A solar cover is helpful to prevent heat loss. We suggest that you cover the pool with a solar cover as much as possible when the pool is not in use. It would be even better if you put additional normal cover over it.
Q3
Why does my heater display code E00, and get frost?
E00 code means the air temperature is less than 46F. As you know, the EU50S heater is based on heat pump technology. When the air temperature drops below 46F, its heating efficiency will be greatly reduced and it is prone to frost. When the temperature drops below 46F, aboveground pools are usually tucked away for the winter, as are heaters. So the factory setting is to have the unit shut down and display E00 code when air temp drops to less than 46F.
Q4
Why does my heater keep leaking?
When you see water coming out of the bottom of the unit, it’s mostly not water leakage, it’s condensed water. The EU50S heater is based on heat pump technology (like the principle behind air conditioning, but in reverse).
So when the air humidity is high, there will be condensing water coming out during operating.
Q5
Will the unit stop automatically if water pump turns off? And will it recover if the water pump is restarted?
Yes, this EU50S model has a built-in water flow sensor that shuts down the unit when the water flow stops and restarts the unit when the water flow resumes.
However, we recommend that during the first heating period, before the water temperature reaches your set temperature, the water pump should be kept in operation so that the water temperature can rise as soon as possible. After then you can set the timing operation mode of the water pump according to actual needs.
